Subject: A Call for Unity and Responsibility to Safeguard the Future of Haiti

?

Esteemed Members of the Presidential Council and Prime Minister,

?

I write to you with deep concern regarding the current political climate in our beloved nation. Haiti, a country with a rich history and resilient people, faces an unprecedented crisis. Violence, poverty, and despair have taken hold of our communities, and it is in this moment of vulnerability that your leadership is most needed. However, the ongoing conflicts within the leadership and the divisive rhetoric threaten to destabilize the country further and lead us into a more bottomless abyss.

?

This internal struggle, marked by ego-driven and toxic behaviors, is tragically reminiscent of the failures of your predecessors—failures that have only served to fuel Haiti’s decline. We have seen where such destructive leadership has taken us: self-destruction, stagnation, and despair. We cannot afford to repeat these mistakes. The people of Haiti cannot afford for their leaders to be more concerned with personal interests than with the future of our nation.

?

I remind you that each of you took an oath of office—a solemn promise to respect the constitution and serve the people of Haiti with integrity and honor. That sacred duty is in jeopardy. The current discord directly threatens your ability to fulfill that promise, and a dereliction of those duties will damage your legacy and push Haiti further into chaos.

?

Our nation is already under siege. The rampant violence, extreme poverty, and instability have crippled our society. We are at a critical juncture, and the political bickering only exacerbates the suffering of our people. It is clear that if this behavior continues, the situation will grow more dire, and history will judge harshly those who chose personal ambition over national salvation.

?

Now, more than ever, it is imperative to put aside self-serving ambitions. Your unity and cooperation are essential to saving what remains of our nation. I urge you to remember our national motto, “L’union fait la force”—unity is strength. This is not merely a saying but a principle that must guide your actions. We hope to rebuild Haiti by standing together, putting aside divisive politics, and working for the greater good.

?

I implore you to refocus on the tasks you agreed upon when you first took office. Revisit the promises made to the people and work earnestly to fulfill them. The future of Haiti depends on your ability to rise above this moment and lead with courage, wisdom, and humility.

?

The world is watching. More importantly, the people of Haiti are watching. I urge you to lead with the vision and responsibility worthy of your positions. Our nation cannot endure further division and discord. The time to act is now—united in purpose and dedicated to rebuilding our beloved Haiti.

?

With most profound respect and hope for a unified path forward,

?

Patriotically yours,

Calherbe MONEL
