An Open Letter to the Candle-Burner Extraordinaire

Hey Candle-Burner Extraordinaire,

Amidst the hustle and bustle of your busy work life, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and share a few thoughts with you from my heart to yours, as someone who burned the candle at both ends for years for a mission and business I was immensely passionate about.

First off, let me just say how incredibly awe-inspiring it is to witness your dedication and commitment to your job and team. You are like a superhero, burning the candle at both ends in pursuit of the goals of your company and team. Your relentless work ethic speaks volumes about your passion and drive, and it's truly admirable.? You’ve raised your hand time and time again when there was a problem to solve or a gap to fill.

As someone who cares about you as a fellow human being, I can't help but worry about the toll this might be taking on you. Life isn't just about work; it's about finding harmony with all things in your life experience and making some self-honoring decisions along the way too.

I understand that deadlines can be stressful, responsibilities can pile up, and sometimes it feels like there aren't enough hours in the day. With technology making us more accessible than ever, we take calls in the car, we answer emails on the side of the soccer field, and we are missing the opportunities to be more present with other day-to-day experiences and our loved ones. Remember: You're not invincible! Even superheroes need their downtime to recharge their superpowers.

So here's my friendly reminder: Take breaks whenever possible - whether it's grabbing a cup of coffee, or going for a short walk outside. These moments will help clear your mind and rejuvenate your energy levels.?

Do more things that bring you joy – whether it's reading books that transport you into different worlds or spending quality time with loved ones who remind you what truly matters in life. Give yourself permission to try something new, to explore, and find things that tap into that part of you that only you can ignite.

Lastly (and perhaps most importantly), remember that asking for help is never a sign of weakness; it's an act of courage and strength. Don't hesitate to delegate tasks or seek support from colleagues when needed. This will allow them to feel seen, valued, and trusted while creating a little space for you.? We will always be better together!

Please know that while everyone appreciates all the effort you pour into your work day after day, a healthy work culture will value your well-being too. Find ways to achieve harmony between your work and personal life, this is where to real magic is!

My favorite place to recharge my soul... near the water!

Take care of yourself, my friend. You deserve it!
