1??. Monday commentary, introducing "The Problem As I See It" #TPAISI January 10, 2022 week #2
“More is lost by indecision than wrong decision. Indecision is the thief of opportunity. It will steal you blind.”―Marcus Tullius Cicero
We live in an age of unprecedented opportunities: if we've got ambition, drive, and intelligence, we can rise to the top of any chosen profession—regardless of where we started. But with opportunity comes responsibility. Today, organizations aren't managing their knowledge of employees' careers or properly organizing their governance.
Why? Leadership has changed, governance and compliance, too.
Fact: In the complex environment of the current business world, leaders are frequently required to act against their instincts. They will need to know when to share power and when to wield it alone, when to look to the group's wisdom and when to take their counsel.
How? A deep understanding of the environmental context, the ability to drive paradox and embrace complexity,?and a willingness to flexibly change leadership style will be required for leaders who want to make things happen in a time of increasing uncertainty.

? If you haven't yet, please read last week's review to discover how to manage sustainability in a complex environment: The sustainable organization—Introduction to the Framework for Sustainability Conversations, part 1/7 .
2.1—The Framework for Sustainability Conversations
The Framework for Sustainability Conversations considers different programming intervention levels and models, the upstream enabling environment, and the importance of meaningful interaction with communities to ensure better access to sustainability solutions. [+Please read part 1 here ].
There are six dynamics in moving towards a sustainable enterprise, we will explore each one of them during the following weeks:
2.2—Open governance and compliance, the takeaways
Open governance enhances the ability of communities to try, learn and adapt their way towards better development outcomes.
Introducing a sustainability plan may conflict with the environment's sustainability at a specific level.
Using evidence to navigate and engage with the prevailing political dynamics help resolve this paradox between sustainability and decision-making.
