4 å¹´This tome is a magnificent read. I urge anyone with a desire to live history to read it, and I can think of no better way to forget the pandemic pox all about us. I have read this book twice, and will surely read it thrice very soon. It resides next to my copies of Dostoevsky, Hardy and Hugo, and just a few shelves from Douglas Reeman/Alexander Kent. So this book is in good company.
