Open Birthday appreciation

Dear friends’ colleagues and family, it’s been a tough year all through but in the past 30 hours, I have received kind thoughts on my birthday.

Most of the messages were very hearty and kind and indeed I have not been left the same. Because I can not reach to each individual, allow me to use these available means to have some small talk with You.

Celebrating a birthday is the most challenging thing that we have as mortal beings because the questions with no answers are always many. It is from these messages that I derived my gratification that I had indeed lived a great year.

Like any other mortals, I have fallen short of your expectations sometimes. I pledge to be better because I shall also find you better sometimes.

We have walked a worthwhile life together and I hope on the next journey, we shall again be together. To my friends that have been asking me whether I was doing my second degree, I shall be enrolling for my third one very soon. (pun).

As I wake up daily, am inspired by Marcus Aurelius’ thoughts on living a fulfilling life that also benefits those around me. He says “…Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart…”  I do not know how much I have performed in the past year but I hope for good results in the forthcoming year.
