??OPC and OPRI – 2024 Wrapped! ??
It’s been a busy year at OPC and OPRI! Before we all take a well-deserved break, here are some highlights from the amazing things our teams achieved in 2024.

Optimum Patient Care Research Database (link): ?
The OPCRD has grown by 3.5m records in the past year, now holding over 28 million de-identified patient records across ~1,200 GP practices. The OPCRD is ideal for ethically approved research studies in population health.
OPCRD joined the EHDEN network and successfully mapped our data to the OMOP common data model, increasing the usability of our database for a wide range of research.

OPC UK (link):
OPCone, our in-house software platform, was successfully integrated with primary care clinical systems. This means we can securely transmit clinical and QI reports directly into GP practice systems.
Working with Cambridge University Hospitals, we have been promoting and recruiting practices for the NIHR-funded OPACE trial, which compares the impacts of different usages of azithromycin.
We also achieved CQC accreditation for delivering spirometry services to general practice in the UK.
We renewed our commitment to net zero, taking significant steps to make a positive environmental impact. This was recognised by the EcoValdis Gold Medal, meaning we are rated in the top 5% of companies globally for our commitment to environmental stewardship and governance.

International Severe Asthma Registry (link):
The ISAR has expanded to include 34,064 severe asthma patients from 29 countries, making it an invaluable resource for asthma researchers around the world.

32 papers have been published in collaboration with OPRI, including two key ISAR studies in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. These were:
