Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, your government has undertaken a commendable review of Canada’s immigration laws, signaling a commitment to adapt our policies to the evolving needs of the nation. However, as you reshape the legal framework governing who enters and thrives in Canada, I urge you to also examine another pressing area of reform: our gun laws.

It’s time for Canada to recognize the right of law-abiding citizens to bear arms and to implement a system for concealed carry permits. While this may sound like a departure from our traditionally restrictive gun culture, I believe this step is critical to safeguarding the principles of personal security and freedom in our increasingly unpredictable world.

The Case for Concealed Carry

Crime statistics tell an uncomfortable story. Although Canada enjoys relatively low crime rates compared to many other nations, violent incidents, including assaults, carjackings, and home invasions, are rising in certain areas. Police resources, stretched thin by budgetary and staffing constraints, cannot always respond promptly to threats.
