oops.solution goes all Elastic
Bangkok: Monday 6. April 2020: TIK Systems’ new product line, under the oops.solution brand, received a major scalability and performance improvement with the introduction of Elasticsearch.
Elasticsearch is a distributed, RESTful search and analytics engine capable of addressing a growing number of use cases. As the heart of the Elastic Stack, it centrally stores your data for lightning fast search, fine?tuned relevancy, and powerful analytics that scale with ease.
Two core modules of oops.solution, oops.gateway and oops.ticketing, are making use of the new and flexible search capabilities, and others will follow.
Angkoon Jiriyasin, Head of Product Development at TIK Systems said: “We are really pleased with the performance, scalability, flexibility and stability of the Elasticsearch search-engine. We conducted load testing of up to 5,000 messages a second with a database of 1.2 billion messages – allowing real-time full-text searches against it. The response times were just phenomenal. Just imagine you can retrieve any type of message, no matter if it is a teletype booking, a EDIFACT ticket message or a passenger name list, by searching for a specific passenger name and you receive the results in 25 milliseconds. This not only reduces response-times, but also CPU cost – and my headache.”
TIK Systems’ roots go back to 1995, when the company was founded as a joint venture between independent entrepreneurs and Swissair Information Systems. From the first days, TIK Systems has focused on developing solutions for the airline industry. In 2004, the company launched its passenger services system (PSS) called tikAERO. A few years later, the business was sold to Mercator, the IT company of the Emirates Group. The product was renamed to Avantik and was successfully implemented with airlines around the world. After almost 10 years in hibernate-mode, the owners have decided to re-launch the business activities as a startup with the introduction of the first modules of oops.solution.
