Oops, It Was the Machine! My Fitness Reality Check (and What’s Next)

In November of last year, I made one of the best decisions anyone could make: I joined the gym. I’ve been consistently showing up, putting in the effort, and seeing results (or so I thought!). I was feeling great and pretty proud of myself when, between December and June, the gym’s machine showed that my body fat percentage had dropped from 22.4% to 18.4%. Naturally, I was excited and started spreading the good word about my progress to friends, hoping to inspire them to get on the fitness train too.

But here’s the funny twist.

It turns out, the machine was faulty. Yep, you read that right. The readings weren’t exactly accurate, and what I thought was my body fat dropping like a rock was more like... a glitch. The real stat is actually 25.8% (thanks to a more reliable machine). Oops!

Now, while I might have gotten a little ahead of myself in the bragging department, it was the machine’s fault – not mine! ?? And the silver lining? I now have a more realistic starting point and a clear goal: work on reducing that body fat in the coming weeks and months.

I’m sharing this story not just for a laugh, but because I think it’s a good reminder that progress isn’t always a straight line, and sometimes we need a little reality check (even if it comes from a machine!). I’m even more motivated now to push myself further and I’d love to team up with anyone who’s on the same journey or looking for a bit of extra encouragement.

I have found the Flexnest scale to be decently accurate The readings match with In body machines (usually those at the gym) It gives trend analysis and many other things Also it costs just ?2,000
