We have a Web3 Digital Marketer in THE PUSHERS!!!

What is the significant event that started your journey into Web3 Marketing?

The significant event that initiated my journey into Web3 Marketing was during my second year at university. While I knew Digital Marketing was a field I wanted to pursue, I lacked formal training and guidance. Turning to the Holy Spirit for direction, I embarked on self-guided learning. Amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, I seized the opportunity to delve deeper into design, particularly mobile design, through collaboration with Whatskool. This experience sparked my interest in digital marketing and motivated me to explore and understand its intricacies.

Upon graduating from university, I dedicated myself to mastering Digital Marketing. Utilizing online resources, I adopted a self-taught approach, acquiring knowledge and skills from various platforms. Despite the absence of a business to practice with initially, I persevered, building my expertise from scratch. This journey equipped me with valuable insights into free tools and resources essential for aspiring digital marketers.

My conviction in pursuing a career in Digital Marketing remained steadfast, and upon completing my university education in 2022, I intensified my focus on this field. Concurrently, my involvement in the Blockchain Ecosystem reinforced my decision to specialize in Web3 Marketing. Recognizing the increasing relevance of blockchain technology in the digital landscape, I saw it as a strategic avenue to leverage my skills and contribute meaningfully to the evolving industry.

What are the similarities and differences between the Web2 and Web3 Marketing?

The similarities between Web2 and Web3 Marketing lie in the utilization of certain strategies common to both ecosystems. These include email marketing, segmentation, and leveraging social media platforms. However, notable differences exist between the two.

In Web2 Marketing, success often hinges on the quality of the product or service being offered. A superior product can provide a competitive advantage in a crowded market. Conversely, in Web3 Marketing, community, and network effects play a more significant role. Projects or products with strong community support can thrive, even if the product itself is still in development or lacks polish.

Another distinction is the prevalence of decentralized platforms and social media in Web3 Marketing. While Web2 primarily operates on centralized platforms, Web3 embraces decentralized alternatives, reflecting a shift towards greater autonomy and transparency.

Moreover, the metrics used to track performance differ between the two ecosystems. In Web2, data is typically measured through traditional analytics tools like Google Analytics, focusing on website impressions and online activities. In contrast, Web3 incorporates on-chain activities, such as wallet transactions and token holdings, into its measurement framework. This shift emphasizes a deeper understanding of user behavior within blockchain networks and reflects the evolving nature of digital marketing in decentralized environments.

Relate your journey with the different startups you have worked for. The likes of BitBarter, Crypto Smart, and more

My journey with startups like BitBarter and Crypto Smart has been shaped by recommendations and my versatility. In the Web3 ecosystem, recommendations often lead to job opportunities, and many of my roles have come through referrals or direct outreach from founders. Despite being a content marketer, I'm adept at event hosting, public speaking, email marketing, SEO, and more. I've noticed that startups value generalists who can handle various tasks, rather than specialists, especially at the outset. In startups, being a generalist can be advantageous as it allows individuals to adapt and contribute across various responsibilities. Startups often operate with limited resources and seek employees who can wear multiple hats. This means that individuals may find their place in the ecosystem by being versatile and willing to take on different tasks.

Some people may have reservations about working for startups, but it's important to understand that startups are often constrained by budgetary limitations. They strive to make the most of their resources, which sometimes requires employees to diversify their skill sets and take on unconventional roles. For example, a graphics designer may be asked to handle video creation or animation tasks.

My experience at Crypto Smart is a testament to this dynamic environment. I collaborated with Miss Karla at Whatskool, an online academy launched during the pandemic. At Whatskool, individuals were taught various skills, including video editing, mobile designing, and bitcoin trading. This experience underscored the intersecting roles and versatile skill sets valued in startup environments.

When I learned that she was starting a second company, I expressed my interest in joining her team. For BitBarter, I connected with someone on LinkedIn who was glad to see my background in content marketing. He directed me to message someone for a content marketing role, but initially, there was no follow-up conversation. However, about a month later, someone else at BitBarter asked me to reach out to the same individual again, which ultimately led to me securing the job.

For my current role at Kwik Pik, my connection with the founder began during my time at Despace and continued after the role ended.

As a founder, what's the vision behind CREAITZ? And what groundbreaking achievements have been made from when it was founded until now?

Founded in 2022, Creaitz has rapidly progressed under my passionate guidance. My vision for Creaitz emerged from my journey into digital marketing. As a self-taught learner, I noticed a lack of resources for seeking guidance and mentorship. Creaitz aims to bridge this gap by providing a supportive platform for digital talents.

Navigating free courses can pose challenges, particularly when encountering outdated content or a lack of support resources. In my own experience, I faced similar obstacles. Despite completing courses, I often found myself without answers to pressing questions, as creators had moved on or communities were not available. This motivated me to establish my own community—a space where individuals with diverse skill sets could come together to seek guidance and share insights. Unlike niche communities, I envisioned a platform that catered to a broader range of interests, allowing for cross-disciplinary discussions and collaboration.

I made the decision to create my own community, which I named CREAITZ. The core concept behind CREAITZ is to establish the largest hub of digital skill enthusiasts in Africa. I recognized that digital skills encompass both technical and non-technical aspects, and I wanted a community that embraced both.

Since its inception, CREAITZ has experienced varying degrees of success. We've reached milestones such as surpassing 500 members, securing strategic partnerships, facilitating job opportunities, and providing resources to enhance our members' skills. Our journey has been dynamic, with each achievement contributing to the growth and impact of our community.

The stories of success within our community are truly endless. One memorable encounter involved meeting a guy in the community through a campaign run to sponsor people for Borderless. He participated and won $20, and from there forward he hasn’t left, he is still there. These people become pushers of the brand. On my own, I don’t think I would have been able to push Creaitz to where it is right now, but because I have community members who are excited about what is going on or love the opportunities that they have access to, they help to spread the word and that is remarkable for me.

Are you still into cryptocurrency or you are just known for web3 marketing?

I don't consider myself a full-time crypto trader. Instead, my focus within the blockchain ecosystem revolves around gaining expertise in the field. To excel as the best Web3 marketer, it's crucial to comprehend the intricacies of Web3 and its various components. I'm actively exploring different aspects of the ecosystem, including decentralized social media, publications, DeFi, trading, exchanges, farming, staking, and wallet infrastructure. While I may earn money through these endeavors, my primary goal is to immerse myself in every facet of the Web3 ecosystem. Through this hands-on approach, I aim to understand the behavior and motivations of Web3 natives and leverage this knowledge to excel in my role as a marketer.

Are you at the place in your career in which you want to be? Is there more yet to be achieved in this phase? If you were to take back the clock what would you have done better?

I believe there's always more to achieve and strive for in life. My philosophy is to keep pushing forward, as there's always something better waiting to be discovered. While I am content with my current accomplishments, I am continuously seeking to enhance my skills and expand my horizons, particularly in marketing beyond the borders of Africa.

Reflecting on my journey, one thing I might have done differently is to start earlier. I began my venture with Creaitz and delved into digital marketing after graduating from university. Although I don't regret this decision, I sometimes wonder about the possibilities had I started during my university years. Perhaps I could have provided more opportunities to others. However, looking back, I believe I initiated my journey at the right time. I had mentors who guided me and a supportive environment conducive to learning. During my university days, my commitments as a Cell and Choir Leader in church, along with academic responsibilities, left me with limited time. Nevertheless, I'm grateful for starting when I did, as it allowed me to access the resources and support necessary for my growth and development.
