Ontology View of ArchiMate 3.2 Specification (Basic)
ArchiMate 3.2 Specification has been released for certain period, during our day to day modeling practice, we have #Archi (ArchiMate Modeling Tool) as the primary tool, while also try EA tool with ontology approach.
In order to well use Archi tool, understand the pre-defined relationships between different elements are crucial to make diagramming and keep consistent language conveying your message to audience.
Here - https://github.com/yasenstar/EA/blob/master/archimate/archimate3.2_ver1_base-on-guide.rdf - with Protege, I've explored the element-to-element relationships described in ArchiMate 3.2 Specification document, and put them into one Ontology file
This is the basic one, as I've first ingore the relationships from elements to a group of elements; and secondary, not contains all possible relationships in the relationship table in end of the document, however, I do hope from it you can find out easier on the elements with relationships.
If you have Protege, you can open the file and visualize it in OntoGraf plug-in screen, then navigate the elements in dynamic manner:
And, you can then using SPARQL statement to query the specific group of information, e.g. I want to know all "Technology_Layer_Elements" that having Realization Relationship to any other elements, you may try SPARQL to the ontology as below sample:
This is the initial try, I'll proceed to analyze those complete relationship table and soon later release the detail version of this Ontology, stay tune and feel free to try to use.
Good luck!
