ONTO THE DIGITAL HIGHWAY, TOGETHER AS SINGAPOREANS

My trusty laptop stand has gone through various postings like I have, including the latest at the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) and the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office (SNDGO).

Many thanks to the wonderful colleagues at the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) - very moved by your messages of support. In many ways, the work will be a continuation of my life as a MOMer, even if the workplace has changed.

At the heart of all that we do as government is the commitment to improve lives and livelihoods of our people. At MCI and SNDGO, a big part of it involves systematically building up Singapore’s digital infrastructure to give our people the best access to a digital economy and new job opportunities. At the same time, we are absolutely committed to digital inclusion, especially for the less advantaged and seniors. There are also dangers and risks which threaten our common spaces, both online and offline; hence the need to safeguard our information and cyberspace.

So, the journey continues on our digital highway. I look forward to working closely with my colleagues from Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, National Library Board, Infocomm Media Development Authority, SNDGO, as we walk with Singaporeans. At certain stretches, we have to pick up the pace to jog and sprint, and seek new milestones!

The fight against COVID-19 is still ongoing. I will be rooting for my MOM colleagues, and work with the MCI family and SNDGO team for prompt public comms and tech solutions.
