Only two months of capital remaining — How will I get the most exposure? (2)

We talked about the content angle in the previous article, this article is about traffic. How to get the most exposure for your content!

Channel 

There must have traffic channel to release the content, the most ideal place must be where your potential customers often gather. I know it’s difficult. 

Another option is a place with many people which is not really accurate, but with more people, the chance will increase.

Do when only you have spare time!

I have talked to public relations official who devotes time and efforts in media. When the economy is bad, the editor-in-chief will watch closely to the content which has any sales intention. Because each production that seems to be sales content may lose a possible advertisement. 

Another point is that the time from submission to publication is difficult to control. It is not surprising that it can be as short as a week or as long as one or two months. Too little that you can control. 

If you really want to publish content, it would be better to operate on the content platform because you can have a little control over it. 

Youtube?

Youtube is the second largest search engine in the world, and it is used by many people relatively. I think the problem of Video is that it takes a lot effort and time to create. If you don't have your fans, it's not easy to go viral. 

Of course, a mobile phone can already film.

Personally, I think it's possible to try it. Some people are natural to camera. But I am the opposite.

Discussion Forum?

Trust me, there’s still a lot of people in the forum. The only obstacle – administrator or gatekeeper of the forum. 

We are working on this field for qutie a while, and your sales message must be covered under stories that people are experiencing. Here are the most common stories direction, the relationship between men and women, work and life, illness and death, and economic problems. 

Most of the B2C business should consider it as one of the traffic channels and what you need to write is not how your product can solve the problem, but how your problem affects life. Sell the pain!

LinkedIN?

If you are b2b, you must use this platform, it is no longer just a site for showing resume, it’s really not. 

I have never sold advertisements in LinkedIn, but I have got a lot of business there already. 

The LinkedIn platform is really transforming in recent years, and now the organic reach and post retention time is quite high. GaryVEE has repeatedly emphasized at the end of 2019 that it is the Facebook of 2012. 

 Other strategies that I don’t know how to classify......

Act like a freelancer for business 

Don’t insist to have an image of a company. In fact, more companies look for Freelance to complete projects under the economic recession, and so do I.

HelloToby does well on SEO so that a lot of keywords are ranking well in Google. More companies that look for freelance will use them to get their project done.

Actually, many companies put their business here to acquire more customers. 

Fiverr/ Upwork 

These two places are facing the world, and the competition also comes from the world.

Ask Directly 

Ask your fans directly: “What can I do so that you will order from us?” 

I learned this method by watching #AskGaryVee.

It’s counterintuitive and more embarrassing to say for Chinese. I used it twice and succeeded once. 

Affiliate Marketing

There's always a company facing the same situation as you, are almost targeting the same audience. It's the power of the multiplication. For example, sell baby shoes and baby shirts. 

It would be good to promote each other among their followers. 

The trick is 

  1. Both parties must have the same strength. 
  2. You promote your partner first! 

Help peer which is less-sized than you but growing

It’s counterintuitive but works. 

Peer resources may be similar to yours, but must not quite the same. 

One of my customers spends 40 thousand dollars to do SEO every year which is introduced by peers. 

Why did he introduce to me? We both provide SEO service!  

To put it bluntly, because his company's size and experience can't stand with client's requirement, the risk is too high.

And of course, I will share a reasonable case with him. 

Free courses or sharing sessions

The economy is poor and "free" is more powerful than usual. 

Recently, my friend’s toilet tank was broken. He usually calls the plumber to fix it, however, he was now in work from home, so he decided to research Youtube and fixed it himself. 

Finally, he went downstairs to buy $150 parts and repired it himself. 

After that, it was unsuccessful. At last, He paid $400 to the plumber to replace it. 

Guess which plumber did he call? 

Yeah, the guy he saw on Youtube. 

When the economy is in the slump, buying habits will change, like my friend. The money that would be spent may become tuition for self-study. I am not telling you to be a teacher, but the importance of providing free content. 

In my opinion, many skills and services are easy to learn and difficult to refined.

  • Who will they look for when they follow your teachings but run into problems?
  • And who will they ask for help when they finally give up dealing with by themselves? 

Talk to a Mentor

Remember that you're not going to take business from them, you're going to make them think about whether they have any resources to help you.

I know a lot of business people who really like to share their views. Although you may not agree with them, your goal is to seek advice. 

Be more humanity, who doesn’t like their views to be praised by others? They may be looking for listeners, too! 

If they like you, they may introduce their network to you.

Increase Referral Fee

I remember that there’s a company that does website production contacting me to introduce clients for them. 

I don't care if they provide any referral fee. I often introduce customers to familiar service providers or vendors without charging the fee. 

However, they offer me an introduction fee of around 5-8%. 

My first feeling was that was “Wow, too little…” 

This doesn’t give me any motivation, it really doesn’t.!

Somehow money can motivate people. Increasing the Referral Fee is an attractive nudge. Think about it!

Beware of Master

When the situation gets worse, people tend to looking for a master.

But, please be skeptical on that! 

Master seems to know everything, and his vision may be wider than you, but you need to realize whether his opinions have actually been implemented or they just empty talk. 

I've seen a lot of master talk about strategies and methods, but I doubt if they really understand what they’re talking about 

I rarely say “I can make it you can make it too!” 

Because I feel that I got a lot of "luck" in the whole process, and these lucks cannot interpret as my strength. To be honest, even you are following all the path I did, I don't think you can get the same results as mine.

As a result, what I said may be wrong.

Trial and error by yourself is the name of the game, but to be fast. 

Conclusion 

The overall direction should be still high-quality content, but the content angle and channel to get started need to be more diverse. 

However…… 

Hustle is still the top priority

Don't naively assume that there is a way to suddenly multiply your business. Do productive things daily.

p.s Someone will ask why I didn’t mention broadcasting because I’ve never done that……
