“It only takes one punch!”, said Sasha Povetkin.

Epilogue to the Matchroom Fight Camp Week 4, Brentwood, England, Saturday, August 22, 2020 (DAZN): Jab Hook's belated epilogue after a week of vacation with his darling granddaughters.

Uli Hebel led the way as DAZN.de relaunched professional boxing for 2020. It was an interesting evening of pugilism with brutal action going the distance and shockingly sudden KOs stopping a pair of fights.

Main Event- Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin again proved the old boxing adage about heavyweights, “It only takes one punch!”

They started cautiously in the 1st round and both fighters looked to be in top form. Whyte's jab was setting things up, but he worked mostly from the mid-range and failed to take advantage of his reach. By the 3rd round Povetkin was timing Dillian and getting through to body with faster punching and accurate hooks.

In the 4th Whyte took the cue and refocused his attacks to the body with success. That opened up the head and allowed him to drop Povetkin twice in the round. The 5th round commenced and it seemed that the gate-keeper Povetkin was opening the door to success and that Whyte would finish the job soon.

But the wily Russian had recovered his wits and a lack of caution on the part of Whyte let his hands sink. It was the perfect opportunity for a perfect uppercut, a left hook that started in Sasha's back pocket and ended on the tip of Dillian Whyte's chin.

Snatching the “Body Snatcher” was a cruel twist of fate for the long suffering contender. It was a KO of the year 2020 candidate for Povetkin and a better uppercut you will never see.

Jab's pick was incorrect, Whyte did not beat Povetkin by TKO in round 10.

Co-main Event- The rematch lived up to the hype. Katie Taylor boxed more than last time to great effect, while Delfine Persoon fought like a women possessed. The will to win and the tremendous forward pressure generated by Persoon was impressive. However, it was insufficient to slow Katie down and was not enough to sway the judges.

The damage to the Belgian former champion's face was extensive, further documenting the number of punches she ate against a highly motivated, undisputed champion. The middle rounds were close enough, but Taylor started the fight strong and finished it likewise.

Katie Taylor rightfully owns the WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO women's lightweight world titles. “The Bray Bomber” is the undisputed champion at 135lbs/ 61.2kg.

Jab's pick was Katie Taylor winning by close decision, with Delfine Persoon giving her plenty of trouble again.

Undercard- Luther Clay put Chris Kongo to the test and won almost every round. Clay looked slick and boxed with superior ability and greater concentration than the untested UK club fighter Kongo.

But the bigger man who was far behind on the scorecards was ready to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. When his the opening came in the 9th round, Chris Kongo pounced. He was boxing loosely, moving well and counter-punching as Clay pushed forward with combinations and a leaky defense. A minute into the round Kongo stepped off the ropes and suddenly snapped a short left hook that stopped Clay in his tracks.

It was a perfect trap set by Kongo that changed the tide of the bout in an instant. Luther Clay clinched like a pro and somehow stayed on his feet, as he tried to clear his head. Within a minute Clay was back to throwing combinations and moving forward, though his legs were not all there. And boom, Kongo walked Clay onto two, vicious left hook that dropped Clay so hard the towel flew immediately from his corner for a 9th round TKO.

Jab's pick was off, Luther Clay did not beat Chris Kongo clearly on the scorecards.

Jab Hook's 2020 predictions: 32 of 41 correct Aug. 23rd = 78% (Since 2018: 250 of 298 correct = 83.9%)
