It only takes a minute, it only takes a £1....
Firstly thank you to all of my LinkedIn connections and friends for their generous donations on my Just Giving page as part of my fund raising for my London to Paris ride in support of Help for Heroes.
Having raised nearly £3000 already I'm sure I can get to £5000. If all my connections that haven’t already done so,donated just £1 it would take the fund over the magic £5000 mark. It is quick and easy just click the Just Giving link, it takes seconds, check the gift aid box and your done.
For those of you that haven’t read the previous post some detail.
3 days, 30 riders and nearly 300 miles...One goal, one vision and one amazing cause
Cycling in my formative years extended to my trike and latterly the bike of paper-boy champions, the Raleigh Grifter......neither of which will have prepared me for what I'm sure will prove to be an incredibly challenging and rewarding experience.
In a weak moment over a glass of red wine, which is where many of these things start, George Czasznicki (CFO at Infor) said to me, 'Fancy a trip to Paris?'..... Little did I know what he'd set me up for.
And so the journey begins. Trying hard not to emulate the MAMIL (middle aged man in lycra) stereotype I invested in a Bianchi road bike, cast aside the stabilisers, and with the advice of Norman Tebbit ringing in my ears got on my bike.
It is going to be a long haul, but with the support of friends, family, colleagues, industry peers and more importantly a great cause to drive me on, I'm sure the chafing will be worthwhile!
