The Only Sustainable Competitive Advantage

Leadership skills and capabilities are prerequisite to the speed and effectiveness of decision making. Moreover, the speed of decision making maybe your only sustainable competitive advantage and is essential in any successful business transformation.

As we know, organisations that acted quickly to counter the impact of the?COVID-19 pandemic, dealt with the disruption more effectively than those organisations who employed a more ‘leisurely’ approach.

In future, the speed of decision making will need to be sustainably delivered by design and not ‘crisis’ fuelled, as was the case in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organisations that continue to invest in developing their people, enjoy an elevated success rate in transformational change programs, than those that do not.

Despite progress over the past several years, many organisations are still struggling to build the requisite leadership skills and capabilities to deliver effective business transformations.

The adaptive challenges facing organisations today and the chronic uncertainty across value chains and markets are of such complexity, that they require new ways of thinking, learning, indeed leadership.

These adaptive challenges are problems that cannot be solved from the top down, but that require the entirety of an organisation to step up, to iterate, innovate, learn, adapt and overcome. For leaders looking to build durable businesses in today’s environment, there’s an imperative not only to become more adaptive themselves, but to instill that adaptability across the entire organisation.
