The Only Race Series in Pro-Road Cycling
Tomorrow is the final race in the Hammer Series and Hong Kong will host it's first professional road cycling race. Today I watched the Team Captains in action at the Hong Kong Velodrome, smiling and signing autographs for children and talking to the media about tomorrow's race. Tom Dumoulin rode against Philippe Gilbert as one of the "fun" races to help promote cycling to youngsters in Hong Kong. It was all in good spirits (but Tom did put the big gear on before he set off just to make sure...!).
The Race tomorrow will decide the first ever winner of the Hammer Series. For those that doubt the Teams and Riders take this seriously, go to www.hammerseries.com and read what they say about it. They're all here to win.
The final of the Hammer Series is the culmination of a lot work by a lot of people: the teams, the riders, our host race partners in Stavanger, Limburg and Hong Kong and the team at Velon (still hard at work into the night here). But I'd like to give one shout out, to my old friend Mark Buttermann, without whom there'd be no Hammer Series. The cheesecake doesn't taste the same here without you mate!
If you're in Hong Kong, come over to Kowloon and watch the action and if you're a race fan, tune in to see us (Fox Asia for live coverage out this way, Hammer Facebook everywhere else), see the guide to Watch Hammer Hong Kong.
Tomorrow the teams will go ALL OUT! Enjoy the racing.
