Only New Skills will sustain the Job, Companies are also giving importance to such Employees.

The Epidemic taught us, now just one Skill is not enough.

Due to Covid – 19 ongoing crisis Enterprises or Companies expect simultaneous multiple results from their own limited human resources. To give results on time Employees need to be able to master the skills of different fields.

Let's take examples of how work profiles change in different Professions.

Teaching Profession - In most of the Training Institutes, the Teacher’s work was limited to teaching. During Covid, Institutes are expecting different kinds of work from teachers. In top-level Institutes, teachers are doing work as Consultants, Researchers, Instructors, Marketing, Fundraising, Revenue Generation, and Finding new sources to get National and International Rankings.

Finance / Banking Profession - In most Financial and Banking jobs professionals’ work was limited to Banking, Finance, and Accounting. Due to Covid- 19, in a tight budget companies are reluctant to hire employees with more than one skill to reduce costs. Many people involved in finance and accounting are learning technology and skills, such as Virtual Audit, Data Analytics with Python, Business Analytics, etc. By learning these skills they are trying to fit themselves into the FinTech (Financial Technology) sector. In this way, IT professionals are also learning the basics of finance and banking, so they can offer Fintech solutions in developing areas such as Open Banking, Block Chain, Economic Exploration, and P2P Lending.

HR Profession - The main task of a human research manager is to identify and recruit good talent and provide necessary training and real talent has to be promoted in the company based on performance. Covid has forced employees to work from home and it is hard work to manage them virtually. Hence, by adopting a new skill set, HR managers are testing employees through online writing exams, virtual group discussions, virtual interviews, and checking their behavior on social media networking sites.

Marketing Profession - The marketing world is moving from traditional marketing to digital marketing. Marketing experts are learning a new technology like Web Design, Google AdWords, Search Engine Optimization, and Social Media Marketing.

IIT and other universities in the country are offering such courses in various departments of engineering, science, technology, and social sciences. Now is the time for the various departments to collaborate and design such multidisciplinary courses. It is the right time for Business Schools to a partnership with Technology Companies and Institutes to prepare Techno savvy Managers.

In short, to survive an epidemic we need to learn various skills from different sectors
