Only a matter of time, surely?...

Only a matter of time, surely?...

It has to happen!

Surely amongst all the data that we acquire from customers, nothing could be more sensitive than personal credit and debit card details, but we’re still happily “verbally” taking that information over the phone and either writing it down to process or hearing it as we key it in to our card machines or online merchant gateways; that can’t be acceptable, surely?

Fortunately, logic would dictate that it’s only a matter of time before such practices are outlawed and perhaps the next PCI Directive will ensure that a company taking payments over the telephone has no visibility of card details, just uses a bit of bolt-on technology to facilitate the transaction with the merchant provider.

In preparation for the inevitable, here at BCH we have used our considerable 11 years+ experience in providing PCI DSS Level 1 Compliant Telephone Payment Lines, to develop simple and inexpensive solutions to remove clients, (ranging from large contact centres to sole traders), completely from scope.

If you’re looking to protect this area of your business, remove yourself from the headache of those lengthy SAQs or just want to sleep at night, we’d be delighted to assist!
