If only I could

If only I could

We have all sat daydreaming and thinking

If Only I Could…

·        Not go to work today

·        Stay at home

·        Spend more time with my children

·        See my partner more

·        Learn a new skill

·        Play my guitar/violin

·        Work from home

·        Not have to sit in traffic every day

·        Start a vegetable garden

·        Do that research on ….

·        Write more articles

·        Read more

·        Author a book

·        Paint/Draw and use my artistic skills

·        Spend more time with my animals

·        Paint the spare room

·        Find more quiet time

The list is infinite and now suddenly like magic, Covid-19 has granted us the opportunity to do our list of daydreams.

You would think that we would be over the moon and rushing off to start our biggest dream.

Instead many of us feel sucker-punched and in total shock and have frozen. Or we are clamouring for the way life used to be and fighting for the exact things we did not want to do.

It stands to reason that we have probably been viewing the day-dreaming list as wishful thinking and never likely to happen. The items like – spend more time with our children – imagine if we could – but of course we can’t – we have to work and travel and there just isn’t enough time in any given day.

Now we have been given that time. It feels overwhelming and you may feel scared and lost and not too sure where to begin.

You have been used to low flying out of your home every day to go to meetings and to see customers and to make call rates and sales. Work life and home life were very separate. Now you are required to integrate work and home, juggling children, animals and work all at the same time. Suddenly there are more hours because traveling time has diminished or gone all together. You do not really know how to separate work and family when they now occupy the same space. You are developing a new found respect for teachers. Do you still dress up, wear work attire and makeup or should you just stay in “jarmies”? Does your day still have meaning if you sit on your bed without the call rate and sales? What do you do with the energy that was needed to manage an intense day’s work? You may not even be able to use up the energy now in the gym. Online meetings are now the norm and where am I supposed to click again? Who knew how much you could eat when you aren’t rushing between those appointments? Boxes of biscuits have a crazy way of disappearing.

Suddenly being given the opportunity to do your dream list is scary.

It doesn’t have to be.

·        Do you know that when you share your feelings and thoughts with others that life gets less lonely and way less scary?

·        Do you know that someone in your circle has the solution for what you need?

But how do you find a group and people willing to listen and share and collaborate?
