If Only.
Observation and Imagination Lead to Invention

If Only.

I spent my child years

lost in thought of battles won and lost.

In retrospect I’m thankful now, there was no human cost.

If only wars existence was in our childhood dreams.

Planes would soar with no harm done on silver lined moonbeams.

Battle ships would show their might on mercury seas of gold.

The Soldiers firing rainbows exactly as their told.

The policy on prisoners, those guarded by great towers.

Absolutely no release without a gift of flowers.

And to the one victorious, gloating from above.

The greatest prize in spoils of war, a statue of a dove.
