If Only ChatGPT Really Knew How Americans Thought About It
There has been so much buzz about ChatGPT and the applications and implications of the artificial intelligence chatbot tool. Some trust it. Most question it, pointing to inconsistencies in delivering information. One recent query reinforced the potential of ChatGPT’s political bias when asked about creating a poem for Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
Thus far, most Americans are questioning the accuracy of the data sources being crawled and gleaned from ChatGPT – when delivering responses for a range of topics.?
A Morning Consult poll conducted a few weeks ago found that a majority (52 percent) of Americans think that generative AI platforms are not a fad. However,?only 10 percent of respondents think the output from generative AI is “very trustworthy,” while 11 percent think it is “not at all trustworthy,” and the remaining 80 percent are undecided.?
We are very early in the trajectory of this technology. And there is a lot of work to do. This is why so many companies are banning the use of ChatGPT, including, Amazon, CitiGroup, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo, and JPMorgan Chase.?
While ChatGPT is extremely advanced in many respects, generative AI is still in its infancy. To earn the trust of the mainstream, there are many considerations that need to be resolved, including ethics, transparency, and most importantly, contextual accuracy.
Hopefully humans will be able to help sort these issues out.?
Huge addition to my professional tool box. It helps get the projects started and build from there. We are using this for policy, memos, job descriptions, etc.... what caused us hours of work has drastically reduced the time commit. Human review is a must but I am looking forward to what lies ahead. In addition, I am already using AI functionality in our sourcing and recruiting. Exciting times ahead! Thanks for sharing.
