Only 57 days left
Locums the countdown has begun - 57 days left to complete your self-assessment tax return
From today you know have only 56 days left to submit and pay any tax owed.
The deadline date of the 31st of January 2024 is fast looming and do you want to be left with this lingering over the festive period - we at Locumkit urge all locums to complete theirs sooner rather than later to find out what they owe and make sure they have the funds to pay before the deadline.
Worried about how to pay your liability
Unlike during Covid where everyone was eligible for help now HMRC is only allowing certain taxpayers to take advantage of support if they need it - you may be able to set up a Time to Pay arrangement which can be sorted online without speaking to HMRC.
Moving with the times
A lot of our clients and others are now paying for their self-assessment tax return via HMRC’s app, an easy way for us whilst we juggle with our busy lives. From the app you can not only pay but also access your personal tax information, giving you flexibility and convenience. Go to GOV.UK and search ‘HMRC app’ to find out more.”

Last but not the least, please be vigilant
In the run up to the Self-Assessment deadline, a peak time for scammers who will try and contact you impersonating they are from HMRC. This can be in various formats such as scam texts, emails an/or phone calls.
This could be in the form of the promise of a rebate, telling people they need to update their tax details, or even threatening immediate arrest for tax evasion. If you are in receipt of any such correspondence, we advise you to speak to your accountant or check HMRC scams advice on GOV.UK.
