Are you ready to take your social media game to the next level in 2023? If so, you will want to pay close attention to what I am predicting!
But first, ask yourself- Why do people come on social media? Is it to learn about the latest and greatest products and services on the market? Not exactly. In fact, most people come to social media to be entertained, to learn something new, or to be inspired. And that's why, in 2023, I predict that only three types of posts will genuinely thrive on the platform – entertaining, educational, and inspiring.
1) Entertaining posts.
These are the ones that make us laugh out loud, share with our friends, and come back for more. They might be a hilarious meme, a silly video, or a witty caption. For example, imagine a fast food chain posting a meme about the struggles of deciding what to order at the drive-thru. This post not only promotes the brand in a fun way, but it also resonates with the audience and encourages sharing.
2) Educational posts.
These are the ones that teach us something new or help us solve a problem. They might be a tutorial, an explainer video, or a well-researched article. For example, a beauty brand could share a post with tips on how to create the perfect smoky eye, complete with a step-by-step video tutorial. Not only does this post showcase the brand's expertise, but it also provides value to the audience and establishes the brand as a go-to resource for makeup advice.

3) Inspiring posts.
These are the ones that motivate us to be better, do better, or simply feel better about ourselves. They might be a quote, a story of triumph, or a call to action. For example, a fitness brand could share a post featuring a customer's transformation story, complete with before-and-after photos and a motivational quote. This post not only promotes the brand but also inspires the audience and encourages them to take positive action toward their own goals.
But here's the catch: while it's essential to create content that falls into one of these categories, it's even more important to make sure that your content is customer-centric, not brand-centric. In other words, instead of flaunting your products or services, focus on showcasing how your customers feel better with them.
For example, let's say you're a fashion brand. Instead of posting a photo of your latest collection with a caption like "Check out our new arrivals!", try posting a picture of a happy customer wearing one of your pieces with a caption like "Feeling fabulous in our new dress! Thanks for helping us shine, [Brand Name]!" This approach puts the focus on the customer and how your product has made a positive impact on their life, which can be much more effective at capturing people's attention and engagement.
So there you have it: in 2023, I predict that only the entertaining, the educational, and the inspiring will truly stand out on social media. Want to make an impact with your content? Make sure to incorporate at least one of these elements into your strategy and watch your engagement soar!
