In celebration of Buffalo Bill's 175th Birthday the International Cody Family Association (ICFA) will be hosting a Buffalo Bill Birthday Cake Contest via Zoom on February 28th at 1pm PST, 2pm MST, 3pm CST or 4pm EST.
The ICFA Vice President, Reunion Chair and Great, Great Grandson of Buffalo Bill, William “Kevin” Cody will emcee the competition while contestants compete for prizes and recognition for the most decorative and creative Buffalo Bill Birthday Cake.
All ICFA family, friends and fans of Buffalo Bill are welcome to either compete and/or attend this live Zoom event.
Deadlines:
Contestants – Sign up deadline for contestants is February 20th. To sign up, simply let us know that you would like to join the competition via email at [email protected]
Attendees – Sign up deadline for attendees is February 25th. In order to receive your Zoom access information (Meeting ID & Passcode), simply let us know that you would like to attend via email at [email protected].
Entries – Your entry will be based on 1 image only, so please choose your best photo (cake only – no faces for fair judging). Please submit your photo entry by February 25th via email to [email protected].
Along with your attached image, please include your first and last name(s), city and state of residence and phone number. Please include a short description of your cake and/or personalize your cake with a name/title.
We also encourage you to please send us a short, fun video of your cake along with your chef(s) (30 seconds or less). Maybe share with us your concept and/or inspiration for your cake (your video will not be used for the judging in competition).
Rules:
Your cake must be original, edible, family-friendly and 3-dimensional. No drawings or digital renderings. Buffalo chips are ok, lol!
Everyone is invited to attend and everybody except the emcee and our Advisory Board is eligible to compete!
Judging:
The best cake will be chosen live from votes cast by all Buffalo Bill Cake Contest Attendees (Feb. 28).
Attendees will get one vote per log-in device (preferably computer or tablet as smart phones may restrict your viewing experience).
Ties will be resolved by vote of the ICFA Advisory Board. In addition, if we have more submissions than allotted Zoom event contest time.
We reserve the right to hold preliminary judging by our Advisory Board beforehand to limit the final competition to just the top 10 cakes.
Prizes:
The top 3 best cakes will all receive an ICFA published version of “The Last of the Great Scouts” softback book written by Buffalo Bill’s sister, Helen Cody Wetmore, plus a signed, limited edition, poster size print of "Buffalo Bill and the Indians on the Beach" by artist Thom Ross. A surprise ribbon will also be awarded for our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners as well as Honorable Mention in the June 2021 Review newsletter.

All submitted photos and/or videos will automatically become the property of the ICFA. The contestants agree to hold the ICFA harmless and unaccountable from the consequences of any failure to select the best cake, lost entries or other "acts of God."
