Ongoing Campaigns - Centre For Transforming India (CFTI)

CFTI weaves dreams into reality, offering wings to aspirations and breaking barriers that hinder progress. Through our multifaceted initiatives, we strive to make a difference in the society and leave those whom we serve with a trail of hope, empowerment and joy.

We were established in 2009 and are registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882. Our trustees are young passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds. It includes an MD of a prominent newspaper, businessmen, and foreign-educated graduates. With a committed team of 700-plus volunteers, we primarily engage in the fields of education and women empowerment. We also undertake activities to alleviate poverty, and provide disaster-relief and medical aid, etc.

Key Initiatives:

1. Savitrichya Leki Challya Pudhe (Bicycles for Girls): We empower young girls by providing bicycles, ven today, the drop out rate of girl students is as high as 10.1% in Maharashtra. So, in honour of Savitribai Phule who was a social reformer and a pioneer for girl’s education, CFTI has undertaken the mission to bring back girls to school.

So under our program 'Savitrichya Leki Chalalya Pudhe', we distribute cycles to school girl students who need it the most, especially in the rural areas. As the public transport is poor in the villages, walking to schools is not an attractive option. So these cycles are meant to be a safer option and simultaneously decrease their travel time allowing them to allocate more time for studies instead.

We have so far donated over 20,000 bicycles. Our vision is to distribute 1,00,000 bicycles and help 1,00,000 girls complete their school education.?

2.Educational Support: We donate school kits, including books, stationery, and uniforms, to ensure that underprivileged children have the necessary resources to succeed academically. Our goal is to remove obstacles to education and create an environment where every child can thrive.

3. Drishti Program:Project Drishti is a heartwarming initiative aimed at aiding the elderly with visual impairments. In India alone, 550 million individuals are estimated to suffer from this fate. The most common conditions faced are hypermetropia (inability to see objects clearly up close), myopia (inability to see objects far away) or astigmatism (blurry vision). Another condition called presbyopia is age-related and affects a majority, aged 35 & above.?

So, CFTI conducts eye check-up camps and distributes free prescription specs to the elderly. We want to take this forward and go PAN-India for 1,00,000 people. We also help elderly get their cataract surgeries.

4. Smiles 4 Birthday: This initiative is dedicated to bringing joy and celebration into the lives of underprivileged children who have never experienced the simple delight of celebrating their birthdays. In many marginalised communities, birthdays often pass by unnoticed due to financial constraints or other challenging circumstances

CFTI organizes a small birthday party for these children with a cake, a set of new clothes and a gift of their choice. So this project not only commemorates the special day of each child but also infuses a sense of worth and significance into their lives. The festivities are more than just cakes, gifts, and balloons; they represent a recognition of each child's uniqueness and a reminder that they are seen, valued, and deserving of happiness.

At CFTI, we believe in the power of education and health care to transform lives. Through our comprehensive programs, we are dedicated to uplifting rural communities, fostering a supportive environment, and ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Join us in our mission to make a lasting impact and bring positive change to the lives of underprivileged children and elders in rural India.
