In the latest update for OneDrive on Android, Microsoft added face unlock support to the app, which completes the support for fingerprint unlock added some time ago. Face unlock is an added biometric security feature for apps using Android 10.

Face unlock for Android is currently only available on phones made by Google, Samsung, and OnePlus, but more Android phone manufacturers will be adding face unlock support to their upcoming Android 10 smartphones. In order to access the new feature, users need to follow these directions:

  • In the OneDrive app, go to Me > Settings > Passcode and Toggle on “Require code.”
  • After setting up a 6-digit PIN code, you’ll be asked to enable biometrics for OneDrive, Tap Confirm to complete the setup.
