One Year in Toulouse!

One Year in Toulouse!

30th May 2019, 11:30 AM, It was a sunny day and I stepped out of the Blagnac Airport in Toulouse, leaving behind my big world in India and carrying all that I could in two small bags and an invite to join the Airbus family here in Toulouse. The 27 year me had never stayed outside home in India, forget being abroad. I knew I was in for a ride.

For one year, I have made many new friends, picked up new hobbies, learnt new things.. Language a bit, but mostly cooking. Each leaving a huge impact on my life in its own way.

But what has been my biggest takeaway point? In one year, I realize how similar my previous world and the new world are. People smile back at you when you smile at them. Guide you. Tap on your shoulder, hug when seeing after a long time, hand you when you drop something, and most importantly, They help! Always!

When I left India, I was not sure what I was expecting from this city. Maybe I wanted to enjoy a new place, enjoy the freedom, set up my home, do well in my career, and what not. Or Maybe I had no expectations at all. It seems tricky to answer what I was really looking for.

But when I think about it today, what makes me really happy are the people I have met here in Toulouse and perhaps this silently answers many questions.

One year ago, the stated objective was to be courteous, be nice, be respectful to people and build trust. Simple.

The year is over, so what do I do now? At this moment, I think I will keep doing what I am doing and build upon further. Coming out of confinement and enjoying the sun is first thing on mind though ;)

In 2019, a morning something changes in our plateau. A new guy was seating in the corner, discreet. It was you Harsha. For me, you was only a new young guy with a name too dificult for me. It took weeks before we worked together, it took minutes to discover your potential, it took second to feel your incredible human qualities. You are for me more than a Padawan, you are part of our family friend. Mille Sabords, Saperlipopette, what an incredible guy!
