One Year of Tech for War and Peace

One Year of Tech for War and Peace

I have written the Tech for War and Peace weekly newsletter for a year. In 2024, there were 46 editions in total, starting on February 22. When I started writing, Elon Musk had been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. UN Secretary-General António Guterres called on big tech firms to stop profiting from toxic content.

I have consolidated the major events, themes, and discourses of 2024 in a report that will give you an overview of what 2024 was about in terms of technology in conflict and peace contexts.

For a while, the report is free for subscribers to download; you can find it here.

2024 Report - This Year in Tech for War and Peace

In 2024, budgets switched focus from economic development to national security. Ukraine was called a “laboratory”, and the so-called “war by algorithm” became a defence priority. In this 35-page report, you will get up to date with all the big news and stories of 2024 surrounding technology in peace and conflict contexts.
