One Year Of Posting - What I Learned and What's Next

One Year Of Posting - What I Learned and What's Next

1 year of posting on LinkedIn

522 Posts (make ir 523 now ??)

Over 533,000 Impressions

Here's what I've learned:

Some of my most viewed posts were Polls, by far the most engagement

The more frequently I post, the lower the Impressions per Post

Don't try to please the algorithm, it makes you sound inauthentic

Self-Deprecating Humor seems to be enjoyed

I've received multiple job offers

Adding pictures to your posts boosts Impressions

My videos don't get many views

My Newsletter "The LO Down" was well received, but really difficult to stay consistent with. Will need to get back on track with that

#HighFiveFridays are fun to do and it feels good to promote the good posts of others #BAM

When I switched to "Creator Mode" I added nearly 700 followers in a day

I've made myself more relevant to others in the industry

Cold calls are warmer

I have a few contacts that "Like" most of what I post

I'm sure there are some folks that don't "Like" most of what I post

What Will I Change in the Future?:

I think I will post less frequently (Once a Day)

Make themes for each day to stay consistent with what I post

Engage with other posts more frequently

Take connection further through DMs and building out my network more

Goals for my Next Year of Posting?

Increase my Engagement:Impression Ratio to 5% (currently 2%) by posting Content that is more targeted and valuable and engaging with other's content more often

Create One Newsletter per month

Build out my network more by adding comments and making connections with others

One year down, another one ahead. Looking forward to the journey.

Great post!!! Super valuable for anyone using this thing to try and make a difference. Imagine how many recruiters out there are scared of putting themselves out like this and how far ahead you're accelerating right by them. Congrats! Question on the videos not getting as many views. Do you record the video on your phone and then upload to LI on your phone. Or do you record on phone and then upload on the web? Have you ever used an app to put Captions on the video? Do you edit the Auto Captions functionality? I have no idea what the best practice is but interested in your process since you feel views are lower on your videos. ?? ??
