One Year Later... A Reflection
One year ago, I joined #Baxter in my current position. Living in #Malta I had known Baxter only as a Manufacturing Plant with a long standing 30-year presence on the Maltese Islands. Little did I know Baxter in Malta is home to over 460 professionals coming from 32 different nations, working in different units, representing both regional and global functions from manufacturing, research and development, engineering, post market surveillance, regulatory and quality just to mention a few, all working towards one goal, that to “Save & Sustain Lives”.
In the last 365 days, I’ve had many coffee chats, informational sessions, meetings, calls with colleagues from all over the world, which helped me settle within the organisation. One thing in common in all the people I spoke with… the sense of belonging within Baxter, People speaking about Baxter as if it was their own. I have had the opportunity to work in different companies, but the people here have great energy and attitude. Energy and attitudes are contagious, and this is certainly keeping me going.
Leading the HR function for Baxter in #Malta has been very rewarding, working for an organisation where we are truly reflecting the objective of being a Best Place to work. As we continue our mission, nothing is more important than fostering a culture where employees are valued and given the chance to fulfill their career aspirations. Work is more rewarding when you spend time considering what you have learned. When I look back over the last year, the thing I appreciate most is how much I have learned.
Today, one year later, I am equally, if not more, determined to make a lasting mark towards Baxter’s Mission. I can’t help but smile to myself about how much I’ve enjoyed my first year at Baxter, I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve achieved together with my team, and I’m looking forward to the years to come.
