The One At 'Word Gets Around'!

This one had been in the diary for a while.

I met Paul through 4Networking going back some years now and remained in touch via the power of Social Media!

Paul initially asked me to Speak for his WGA (Word Gets Around) Networking event in Taunton, Somerset - last year.

At the time - I was still employed (that seems a lifetime ago now!) so the diary would only allow a date that was then some time in the future.

That date was Thursday 17th May 2018 - and the event happened this week - and it was PHENOMENAL!

The event felt poignant and powerful for two reasons;

Firstly, it made me realise how far I've come since the date of the original booking - my whole world looked different back then!

Secondly, I met the wonderful and inspirational Serin Rayner-Davies (pictured below - the one without the beard! :)) who before the meeting - shared with me her own experiences of OCD & Anxiety - having featured on Channel 5's Extreme OCD - and who herself shares her challenges & successes of her journey. Very apt being #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek too.

It was great to see some 'old' faces and meet lots of new people - and the engagement and energy around my talk was AMAZING - truly invested their attention and emotion in to what I was sharing - and I am very grateful for that. I still - and always will - feel humbled by the positive feedback I get and what people then share with me after I have spoken.

It's amazing that when we make a decision to open up to people - to show people the real 'you' - people will open up right back - and lots more people went on to share their own challenges and journeys with myself after the event by email & social.

A massive thanks to Paul & Jo for the opportunity to Speak at their fantastic event - it has such a great vibe to it - and to all who attended, supported & hugged!
