One Week In Recruitment #007
Happy Sunny Monday from the UK.
Well, what a week and a bit it has been.
It's been a week of struggles if I am honest with you. I know that's a usual thing to admit on social media because everything is sunshine and roses, right??
How to admit you are struggling without it sounds like you are complaining without taking action. I am one for having a few moments inside my own pity party and then making a plan to fight back.
My main issue right now is with LinkedIn. My reach has dropped big time. Now I am not one of those with a huge account but just over 11,000 followers and I am now lucky if my content hits 150 impressions in the first 24 hours. You can do the maths on this of the percentage. If you through in second-degree connections that could be shown the content, it reduces it further.
Action taken = To continue posting. Plus, I have also contacted LinkedIn directly to ask if my reach has been restricted. I am awaiting an answer after receiving 2 emails so far, each one pushing the issue further up the food chain.
#linkedin If you are reading this, please help...
A little ask, If you see my content in your feed, please just engage and we can see if that helps.
The second struggle these past few weeks is gaining traction with new clients.
The outreach I have done in the past few months has started to get the same response. We are being ask to do the recruitment in-house. This makes my heart heavy.
I have been in that postion personally. Trying to juggle a full-time job with the added recruitment process. It isn't fun and can lead to increased pressure and burnout. Especially when roles are urgent. The candidates just aren't applying anymore so they pool becomes even more limited than it was. This is where headhunting comes into play or even a database of suitable candidates. After all this is my full-time job.

This leads me to my second ask of the week.
If you are hiring or know someone who is within the industrial, manufacturing, or engineering sector in the UK, let's have that conversation.
In other news...
I have rejoined Instagram. Link is in my profile.
It is different content that I post on Linkedin. Just check it out and see my ugly mug more often haha.
I have also found 2 quotes this week that I am keeping in mind as we head into the back end of the year.
If will leave you to ponder those quotes and you can tell me what springs to mind...
Until next week, take care of yourselves and each other.

1 年Last week was a struggle for me as well. It must have been a full moon because it was all kinds of difficult. I hope LinkedIn provides an answer soon.

1 年"To achieve greatness, you first have to understand what you are willing to sacrifice. " I have given up short-term comfort to prioritize my goals and values by investing my time, effort, and resources wisely to reach my highest aspirations. I'm sorry about your LinkedIn impressions that dropped. I had similar experience. Mine was about 15,000 impressions but it unfortunately dropped to 5,600 yesterday. That ruined my day completely but giving up is not an option! Do have a great week Greg Ward
