One Week to Live

Words are Currency.

How do you tell people that you love them? For some, it’s really hard.

On Palm Sunday, Jesus had one week to live. In John 10:18, we see that Jesus put himself on the cross because he knew that he’d be sacrificed and was willing to be.

How would you react if you had one week or one month left to live?

In the book Chasing Daylight, which profoundly touched my soul, the CEO of KPMG discovered he had a brain tumor and spent the next 90 days in the process of saying goodbye. His system was different than what I would have done, but it was interesting.

He started with the people in his outer circle first, in order to have intimate last moments with those in his inner circle. On some levels it makes sense. Say goodbye and then move on. He told them not to call or reach out to him again because he wouldn’t have time to reply.

But, what if you ran out of time for the inner circle, those humans you love deeply and matter most?

Don’t assume your love shows. Let’s over communicate our love this week as if it were our last week on earth. Words are Currency.
