One week to go.

One week to go.

8 days to go actually. Slightly more than a week. And that's important, because it's not ready yet. I need every one of those 8 days. But I reckon I'll make it.

It's the little tweaky bits that are still outstanding. Like the email it sends you after you sign up. Onboarding automations. VAT stuff for the paywalls. The bits that I used to really enjoy other people doing when I had a business with 80 employees.

But I guess the downside of being a lone ranger now is that all tasks fall on my to-do list. And secretly I love it (cough, control freak, cough).

How do I feel about the launch?

Terrified is the simple answer.

Full of regret about doing it publicly.

Because now if it doesn't work, it's pretty visible.

And I think it'll either REALLY work, or completely fail. It doesn't feel to me like the kind of business that just does 'ok'.

It's a community for founders, and therefore, no matter how much work and effort I put in, it needs founders to join to be useful to other founders.

So my job is to encourage as many founders to join on day 1, and then show them enough value to stay.

So the onboarding process is going to be all important. I need to demonstrate within the first minute that it wasn't a waste of someones time to sign up.

My goal with the community is that it's valuable to founders, even if they want to be passive. Meaning, even if they don't want to get involved in peer-to-peer discussions, there are reasons for them to keep logging in.

There will be daily exclusive content posted. There are over 50 videos explaining detailed strategies to grow a business. There is the ability to request additional modules for topics not already covered by the courses. There are finance, HR and marketing experts on hand to answer questions. And, there's your friendly Linkedin business mentor...me!

So my job is to show all of that as quickly as possible and encourage people to ask the questions, engage with the courses and contribute to the community.

I've cheated slightly though.

To give myself the best chance of showing value, improving on bits that aren't great and encouraging retention, I've given everyone on the wait list 6 months for free. 6 months to start getting involved, 6 months to allow me to gain feedback, tweak and improve. 6 months for it to become an important part of their weekly routine, before asking them to pay for it.

As I write this there are over 400 founders on the wait list. So I'm confident that it will give us a strong enough start to make it valuable to people, and the free period will buy me some time to quickly test, learn and improve.

Once we launch, the 6 months free trial offer will be removed forever. So if you want to be involved, for free, for ages, without paying, then sign up before next Friday.
