One-on-one with Victoria Wilkinson

Q: Tell us about yourself – what’s your role and your responsibilities within the company?

V: I am originally from North London, like Adele ??. I studied Graphic Design & Communication in Brighton & London. I have a passion for production, checklists, and client relations. My main role is to work on brand catalogues, where I closely collaborate with the client to showcase the entire assortment twice a year. I also manage the Adults digital catalogues and other online products. I used to be based in Vietnam where I worked closely with the catalogue team, but in 2022, I relocated from Vietnam to Denmark.

Q: What led you to pursue a career in SPRING Production?

?V: I was sold on SPRING Production values and the promise of adventure when I had a face-to-face job interview with Lars Bo in 2016. The opportunity to work in the Vietnam office was also a significant factor.

Q: What does your typical work day look like?

A: I cycle 10 minutes to the office in Odense, where I am warmly greeted by my colleagues. We usually grab a cup of coffee together. My day involves meetings with our team in Vietnam or with clients. I’ll brief the team in Vietnam and review the layouts they create. And I spend a considerable amount of time liaising with the client to ensure seamless collaboration.

Q: Can you share a bit about your professional journey and how you ended up in your current role?

V: I have had a diverse professional journey. I have worked as a printer on board Disney Cruise Line in Florida/Bahamas and as an onboard communications/brand manager for P&O Cruises, sailing around the world from Southampton, UK. I’ve also held more traditional graphic design roles. Currently, I bridge the role of Senior Graphic Designer with Graphic Project Manager for one of our biggest clients. I spent 5.5 years as a senior graphic designer in the Vietnam office before transitioning to Denmark as a graphic project manager.

Q: What are some of your proudest achievements/milestones in your current role?

V: In January, I completed 7 years with SPRING Production, nearly 5 of which were spent working with one of our biggest clients.

Q: Are there any specific projects or initiatives that you're particularly proud of?

V: One memorable project was participating in the team performance for Halloween 2020, where I portrayed Luigi alongside my colleague Khang Nguyen as Mario.

Q: How do you approach challenges in your day-to-day work?

V: I believe in taking challenges one step at a time and not being reactive. A positive attitude and a smile go a long way in overcoming obstacles.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the company culture here at SPRING Production?

?V: The vibrant atmosphere and the amazing snack table in the co-creation room in the Vietnam office.

Q: Can you share a memorable teamwork experience?

V: Every team building event I attended in Vietnam holds a special place in my memory. Those who were there would understand.

Q: Outside of work, what are your hobbies or interests?

V: I have a great passion for travel and adventure. While living in Vietnam, I enjoyed activities such as cave trekking in Phong Nha, hiking Fansipan mountain, and taking two motorcycle trips around the northern part of Vietnam. Since moving to Denmark, I have been excited to attend festivals and big concerts again. When I’m at home, I enjoy knitting, endlessly taking photos of my cats, or obsessively practicing Danish on Duolingo.
