I wrote down my resolutions for 2016 and posted them on my personal blog. The title was resolutions for 2016 and don't get married. I had great ideas on how I am going to improve myself and become better. I wrote a few and left others. Why? Because some looked vague. They were better done than plan to be done. Although the post seemed like I was talking to someone, I actually spoke to myself.
The new year is really gone and the only thing that reminds me that its a new year is because I am broke. Secondly, I placed a new year wallpaper on my phone. So it reminds me that its a new year. Thirdly, Kenyans seem to be more careless in December, the number of motor vehicle claims I have now, are crazy. When my phone rings, chances are that its a claim inquiry. That reminds me its January.
The only thing I need to do to follow up my resolution for 2016 is to start making them happen. One of my colleagues thinks that procrastination is the worst weakness that one can have. I think she is right. I can't say I plan to quit smoking this year. Then every one hour I say, "one last one" That way I will never quit.
You will never plan to quit somethings especially when they become a habit. So in 2016 you cant say my resolution is to quit smoking. What you do is you quit smoking immediately. Same way for Kenyan musician who feels music is not what he wants to do and he is right. But he says he will do one more song for the fans. That is not quitting music. Producing one last jam? nah! What ringtone needs to do is to stop. People will ask why and then he will answer"I quit singing. Its not my thing. I rather do something else" Now that is real quitting.
