One of the thoughts behind cyber square - coding for kids

For a lot of us, children’s overuse of digital gadgets is a cause of worry. They are getting increasingly lonely, incommunicable and concerned only about what goes on in their tabs or phones, we complain. It is true that many children are compulsive users of digital technology. But we should remember that they are fascinated and enchanted by the magic of computers and internet where people fly, fight and create new worlds. Who wouldn’t be?

How do we handle this problem? It is said that magic is science unexplained while science is magic explained. One of the ways of making them get a grip of the fantasy world is to make them understand how these worlds are created, how these programme codes are written and how these languages work. This command over the fairies on the screen will make them creators of technology; not just mindless, awe-struck users. They will start feeling powerful and will be in charge of themselves. They will become explorers into the sea of digital possibilities…!
