“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven?will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; leave Me, you who practice lawlessness,” (Matthew 7:21–23 NASB).
You know what? I’m no stranger to fooling myself — I’ve done it plenty of times. But when it comes to our eternal destiny, Jesus gave us a serious warning. He said there are only two paths in life — one leads to genuine fulfillment, while the other leads to complete destruction.
The thing is, just saying you’re on the right path doesn’t mean you actually are. Going to church every Sunday doesn’t mean a thing if you’re not really living for God. And if you’re not, well, God knows the truth.
It’s a tough pill to swallow, but even people who claim to be Christians will be turned away if they’re not truly walking the walk inwardly. Yep, that includes some pretty big names in church history. Scary stuff!
Judgment day is coming for all of us. It’s not a matter of if, but when. But here’s the thing: even if you’ve been God’s enemy up to this point, you can still turn things around. You can still repent and believe in Him today. That’s the great news of the gospel!
