One thing I want you to know about therapist confidence
I’m super excited to have launched my course "How to be an Authentic, Confident and Thriving therapist" this week!
Here’s one thing about confidence I want you to know. It can change over time and it’s not always in an upwards direction.
A bad employment experience took me from a therapist who felt confident, self-assured, and valued to one who had insomnia and felt sick before work. It had nothing to do with my skills and experience.
If anything, by the old "time and experience increases confidence" myth I should have been more confident at that point than in my first few years.
But there I was worried about whether I was enough, if I was helping my clients and if the clients knew I was feeling anxious.
Time and experience, together with ongoing professional development helps with fluidity of skills but they're not the only ingredients.
To improve, fine-tune or protect your confidence as a therapist, take my course. I’d love to share my knowledge with you and meet you at the live Q & A.
