The One Thing that Google is and ChatGPT is Not!

There is one thing that Google is and ChatGPT is not. While google can be a verb, ChatGPT can never be one. Even Yahoo can go beyond a noun and find usage as exclamatory euphoria!
You can skype, zoom, tweet, xerox, post-it, photoshop or take instragammable photos! Brand names with the potential to become a verb success story are no longer the norm. ChatGPT days are here!
It is hard for people like me to remember that ChatGPT is Chat Generative Pretrained Transformer. Chat, chatbot, search tool, AI engine, just what is ChatGPT? If this is a multiple-choice quiz / test, it will have an “All of the Above” option!
We may even inherit a degenerative strain trying to remember the expansion of GPT!
Wading Towards Extinction
Verb or noun, adverb or adjective, ChatGPT was at first taking aim at writers, inviting fears that this breed of professionals may be wading towards extinction!
Now, with the new version of ChatGPT, it is clear no profession is spared – coding, HR, marketing, PR, contracting, medicine and so forth.
Developing New Drugs with Generative AI
A few days ago I saw a LinkedIn post that said it could even help discover new drugs while also ensuring that no patent is infringed upon. It is still a copycat scenario – give it an existing drug and it can create a new one by infusing it with similar compounds!
But will you dare to take a drug developed by or with AI? Or take a ChatGPT-powered flight? After all, ChatGPT and Bard AI are still in an experimental phase.
When copycats begin aping the technology in a big way, you can anticipate mayhem with data protection going for a toss and with privacy breaches everywhere!

ChatGPT Use Cases for Writing
Yet, I welcome the adoption of ChatGPT by businesses as I can think of a few use cases in writing.
·?????First, it can help fix grammatical errors that corporate websites spout.
·?????It can clean up various business repositories holding reusable information.
·?????A few companies, such as Microsoft and Salesforce, have also embraced the generative AI technology for auto-generation of emails.
o??I will possibly need it myself as when you rush emails / replies out, errors creep in, particularly with the auto-correct menace (which can be turned off, but most don’t) or when the keyboard keys get stuck.
Easy generation of proposals can be another for those businesses that are already in a degenerative one-to-many state of focus!
o??That is, build one boilerplate and reuse it on hundreds of bids, making minimal changes with a skewed idea of personalisation and customer specificity.
o??I had myself done that, though, in an earlier company that was sending 50k proposals each year.
Perhaps I am from the old school of thought in a world raring to go for, what else, Generative AI! To be clear, I love ChatGPT whether or not I come under its sphere of attack! When we deliver winnable value that risk can be eliminated!

1 年We live in an era where hype is amplified several times and it can sometimes be difficult to make out the truth from the smoke and mirrors around us. My personal take is that dust is going to settle down and the change, as is often the case, may only be incremental or as we say in corporate jargon - evolutionary, not revolutionary!
