One Straightforward Way to RENEW Your Spirit

When your car’s brake pads wear out, you replace them. When your favorite sweater gets a hole in it, you might repair it or look for another. When you want a different look, you might change your hair style. We easily attend to these small, daily fixes, but far too often, we neglect ourselves. We fail to recognize that we, too, might need renewal.
If you’re feeling like your light has been dim lately, it’s time to polish the glass and let it SHINE. This will likely involve meaningful soul work—intentional reflection, journaling, talking with trusted friends or counselors.
Dig deep and think about what has been dragging you down lately.
What’s holding you back?
What steps can you take to add light and positivity to your life?
Which activities will renew your spirit?

I like to encourage my coaching clients to decide what their “it” is at this time in their lives. What is truly, deeply important to them? What is the thing that sparks their motivation, gets them out of bed in the morning, or causes their heart to swell with joy, satisfaction, or love?
This “it” is the key to renewal. When we shift our focus to the most important thing/person/activity, everything else seems to matter a little less. We’re not as bothered by little annoyances. We don’t try to attend meetings or volunteer for activities that are out of alignment with our “it.” This helps us to simplify our daily lives and, thus, gain more energy and a sense of renewal.
Let the new year inspire you to seek renewal. Take a step back, reflect, and prioritize what is important to you. Focus on activities that bring you joy and renewed energy—your “it." Renewal is a powerful process that requires self-reflection, intentional decision-making, and meaningful action. By taking these steps, you can create a path to true renewal and greater happiness in the year ahead.
Sincerely, Louise
