One stone at a time
I was sitting with a mug of coffee filled till the brim, the proportion of beans to water was slouchy .. sun was mild and the air seemed dusky.. nonetheless the dogs would not stop barking & this person at the window was talking at a pitch where I am sure he did not need any device for his voice to reach the other end
Looking at the approaching end of the year I see my phone prompting that my screen time has picked up by “14%” from the last week, I was alarmed as I did not open Neflix or Prime video, I don’t have facebook, Instagram I would browse aimlessly when I feel bored but reality check- I was spending more time on phone!
I reminded myself that I have to get back to my love towards writing so I opened my LinkedIn account & saw so many posts, very well written newsletters & a few of my colleagues including Cindi Wirawan 林幸妮 being recognized as Top Asian voices. Where can I start from ?? It all already looks full, the thoughts & articles are supreme – who will invest time to go through what I have to express ?
This thought of not being read consumed me for a while but as I saw sun getting stronger and fading the grim I also saw my grit of expressing anyway picking up. I reassured myself that when did I let the love for expression be defined by the likes/comments that I may receive.
And here I am writing this 10th article & feeling proud of the milestone that I have achieved and already thinking about 2-3 trends where I would love to express and contribute in the coming weeks.
As they say a?story should end with a message, here it is to you who is reading & thinking to themselves– pick the pieces, breathe and start picking one stone at a time !

2 年Wow 14% screen time is a feat in today's digital world! Keep writing Sugandha Naik :) we write for ourselves and for others too. I used to journal a lot but nowadays I use social media as my public journal (minus the secret thoughts I don't want people to know).
