?Net-Zero Emissions Pledge by e&:

?During COP27, our group e& has announced its commitment towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2030. Taking this notable initiative to reduce carbon emissions and adopt sustainable solutions will hopefully leave a lasting impact and help lessen the deteriorating environmental conditions.

?As one of e&’s top priorities, embracing climate resilient measures has become a necessity now more than ever.

?Our collective will and shared vision in combating climate change will definitely pave the way for prosperity.

?Clean-Tech as a Path Forward:

?Clean technology is the use of environmentally friendly equipment, machinery, and materials or the implementation of sustainable practices to avoid causing harm to the environment and reduce pollutants or wastes.

?Adopting clean-tech in attempts to reduce the adverse effects and negative impact on the environment is a crucial step towards building competent strategies that take climate action into consideration.

?Deploying various measures such as using resources in a more sustainable and responsible manner, adopting environmentally friendly technology, and investing in greener equipment will prompt further change.

?We aim to be a leading voice on the route towards greener business objectives that center on sustainability and advancement.?

Starting from Within:

As part of our CSR pillar “Environment and Climate Change” and in efforts to build on our focus on “Responsible Employees”, Etisalat Egypt has developed a Contribution & Awareness Program (CAP) for its responsible employees.

CAP is a highly significant program that aims to represent our efforts towards promoting a circular economy and incorporating plastic recycling. It also seeks to empower employees with the required knowledge, tools and experience to adopt environmentally responsible behaviors and work jointly in efforts to achieve Etisalat's sustainability goals.

Our employees will become environmental advocates with acute awareness on climate change issues and a strong sense of responsibility towards the environment. Moreover, the program integrates 8 different UN SDGs and the 3 environmental principles of the UN Global Compact.

The program includes awareness workshops, factory visits, technical sessions, training manuals, giveaways and tools for protecting the environment, and Certificates for Recycling and Environmental Contribution.

Encouraging Etisalat’s employees to engage, take active steps and set a role model in active citizenship has been a great success. The first event was held during September and the employees were able to gather more than 30 Kilos of waste.?

Sorting bins and waste collection will be placed inside Etisalat Egypt’s buildings as a step towards more awareness and mindfulness. This will help employees take small sustainable day-to-day actions.
