People have a lot of data, thoughts to show and express, although they don't know how to do it. Somehow they figure out that making infographics is a solution but then again how to make it?. They end up making huge/ endless timelines losing their audience's interest somewhere in the midway.
The question is - How to show "n" no. of data in an infographic explaining everything necessary?
In my opinion, before starting to work on the graphic one must do simple data visualization.
That is making complex data easy to understand. It makes communication more effective. Instead of providing a lot of not so relevant data to your audience, simple data visualization helps you to provide them useful information.
This is the part that is a time taking, where you funnel down the value of the huge amount of data that you have. Once that is done you have to think of how do you want your consumers to see it. Like if it's a biography of someone or the history of a company it can be presented as a clean crisp timeline. If it's statistics it could be shown in different charts and graphs, and if they are your thoughts on something, go wild and be more creative about it.
Introducing a step in your process might take a bit more time but will make it more informative and clear.
Simple data visualization can help you in any of your creative processes. Figuring out actual problems, their solutions, and then conveying that information in the right way is a part of this process.
If you are stuck with your thoughts and confused about how to express them visually, I recommend you to study a bit about Simple data visualization. It'll definitely help.
