No one said it would be easy
Juggling single motherhood, 1 full-time and 2 part time jobs, and advocating for mental health has taught me the importance of prioritization, perseverance, and teamwork. I've learned to focus on the most essential tasks and to delegate when possible. I'm tryig to learn to ask for help when I need it because I denounce the sterotype of a SBW. I cant do it all but I can do somethings.
One of the ways I contribute to my community is through my work at The Village Network . Despite the challenges, I'm passionate about my work and committed to making a difference in the world. I'm inspired by the resilience of the children and families I serve, and I'm motivated to create a more inclusive and equitable society for all..
As a child welfare worker, I help children and families who are facing challenges while working towards the goal of reunification. I provide them with resources and support, and I work to advocate for their needs. My work is incredibly rewarding because often times I am able to directly ?see the positive impact that I am making. Despite this I try to keep the focus on the family's successes. They are who matter the most.

My advocacy work with NAMI has given me a platform to share my own story and to raise awareness about mental illness. I'm also a licensed family peer supporter and because of my newest mental health mentor Tanithia Freeman I'm training to become a speaker and facilitator of two programs called End the Silence and In Our Own Voice. These programs help to educate others about mental illness and to reduce stigma.
In addition to my work with NAMI, I'm also participating in a Board Advocacy Training program through New Directions Career Center This program is teaching me the skills and knowledge I need to serve on a board of directors and to make a positive impact on my community.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute to my community and to make a difference in the lives of others. My work has made me a more compassionate, empathetic, and socially conscious individual. I'm also more motivated to learn and to grow as a person and as a professional. Hashtag I'm trying.
