The One Resume Change That Saves You Time and Gets Results

This week, the Career Warrior Podcast crossed 350 episodes! (...almost how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop)

This year has already proven to be an exciting time to produce content for job seekers, and it's hard to believe that we had our very first episode in 2018.

So much has changed in the job search landscape since our first episode came out, (which was 2 years before the madness of the pandemic). However, the core principles of resume writing remain the same: Your resume is your marketing piece, and you need to do whatever you can to stand out and land the interview.

British advertising tycoon David Ogilvy once said:

On the average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent eighty cents out of your dollar.

The aforementioned quote is one of my favorite because it can be applied to resume writing.

Why? Oftentimes, hiring managers are just as busy and distracted as you are when you're being served an ad. You don't really pay attention to the whole darn thing -- just the stuff that sticks out.

So how can we take one of the most revered principles in marketing and apply it to resume writing? Click here or the thumbnail below to listen to the episode.

What You'll Learn From the Episode

In today's episode, we'll cover tips that are especially useful for mid to senior level professionals to get their resumes to stand out. We'll discuss:

  • Why this approach works (and what marketing legends can teach us about resumes)
  • How to craft a compelling first impression that makes hiring managers stop and take notice
  • Real-world examples of what works and what doesn’t
  • A step-by-step guide to writing yours today

If you want to land interviews faster and stand out in a competitive job market, this is the episode for you.
