One question every tech professional should ask

One question every tech professional should ask

As a director and counsellor at Sunstone, I interact with many tech professionals about their career growth and progression. One of my favourite question for them is

If you leave your job today, will your company find someone else to do your job at a lesser salary?”

What is your answer to this question? Read my article to see what the majority of professionals think.

Excellent Article !! I have one more question to add - In one's pursuit to stay relevant and updated, how replaceable are the skills one aspires to acquire to stay in the game. Unless there are positive responses this question, cost factor shall always come into play. IT Organisations ought to be profit-making businesses and HR would not hesitate replacing a premier institute B-Grad or a techie with a 40% less efficient and experienced resource, as Managerial skills required would diminish(thanks to automation and process improvement) and hot technical skills today will become irrelevant( and even extinct in some cases) tomorrow with technological advancements. All this sounds good for the companies, it is disappointing for the individuals, unless they turn the tables by getting into entrepreneurship ventures.
