9 年Excellent Article !! I have one more question to add - In one's pursuit to stay relevant and updated, how replaceable are the skills one aspires to acquire to stay in the game. Unless there are positive responses this question, cost factor shall always come into play. IT Organisations ought to be profit-making businesses and HR would not hesitate replacing a premier institute B-Grad or a techie with a 40% less efficient and experienced resource, as Managerial skills required would diminish(thanks to automation and process improvement) and hot technical skills today will become irrelevant( and even extinct in some cases) tomorrow with technological advancements. All this sounds good for the companies, it is disappointing for the individuals, unless they turn the tables by getting into entrepreneurship ventures.
