I have a question for you.
"What's the point of what you do?"
I mean beyond the money — deeper than that.
Who does your work help?? What change does it create? Or does it matter because it maintains something important?
We all get lost from time to time in the daily routine of life and continue to do things for the sake of them.
Speed and urgency overwhelm us to the point that the daily routine becomes the daily grind.
We get more and more disconnected from our underlying purpose and lose our joy.
?
But what if you were to imagine standing on the top of a big hill and looking down?
The molehills of worry take on a different perspective. Clarity and reconnection return and we are able to reconnect with a deeper sense of purpose.
?
With this fresh perspective, we can make better decisions about what we do every day to earn our daily bread.

And we can even choose to refocus our energy, passion, and skills in a more meaningful context.
?
After all, if what we do doesn't really make a difference to things or people we care about, it begs the question, "Why am I doing it?"
?
And if it does make a difference, then reconnecting with our ‘why’ helps us craft our role more intentionally. That means we spend our time investing our efforts more effectively and becoming more engaged.
?
Research shows that engaged employees get more opportunities, which often leads to more money, which takes us full circle to the start of this piece.?
?
So, why do you do what you do — apart from the salary?
As the clocks fall back, they take us deeper into autumn, the perfect time of year to start considering what you want and need to change to enjoy a better working life.
Happy thinking!
Best wishes,
Carolyn
PS, If you aren't clear on what those changes might be, maybe we should talk.
