Introverts - what would happen if you spoke up?
In each true introvert is a vibrant inner world.
There is great activity beneath his quiet expression. The introverted mind is always churning, always learning, as it explores the endless universe of thought, where our most powerful resource—ideas—are born and built. Indeed, the introvert is a specialist in ideas.
Inside is great chatter—what is unfitting to call ‘anti-social’—and few busy introverts will abandon a profound inner dialogue for ordinary small talk. Because an introvert chooses to say nothing does not suggest one has nothing to say. Rather, there is much being said, weighed, debated, decided, without a single public word.
The thoughtless person speaks his first words in great splashes. The introvert, if he speaks, will distill his conclusions into a few potent droplets, preferring to cure rather than drown others. Too often are many words boldly said by those with few thoughts and no patience. The introvert, however, knows that consideration precedes confidence.
But here is the tragedy of introversion.
His mind refines and crystalizes ideas into a thoughtful gem, but then, he rarely raises it to the light to share its dazzling worth. Instead, it clinks into a private chest, never to be appraised.
His confidence rarely manifests.
Self-sufficient and content with his work, he feels there is nothing to prove. And who would understand? Why speak up and place the jewel atop a pile of common stones?
“Why share aloud?” may be the only question the introvert fails to answer in his quietly vigorous mind.
However, if introverts never spoke up, certainly these words would never exist, and the world would lack its greatest source of thoughtfulness.
Introverts are students of existence. Who better to report his careful observations? Occupied with ideas, who better to share his powerful thoughts?
Who better to carry to the surface the deepest things we know?
No one. So speak up.
One of the most powerful forces possible…is an introvert who finds his voice.
Share your thoughts, or share these. Just get out there.
